Founded on a deep love for Scotland’s rich culinary heritage and legendary whisky traditions, Tasting Scotland Luxury Tours and Travel Experiences began 15+ years ago with a simple mission: to introduce travellers to the authentic flavours of our land via a range of world-class Day and Multi-Day Tours. The early days were spent guiding guests through world-renowned Malt Whisky distilleries (yes, no ‘e’ in Whiskey here!), historic salmon smokehouses, artisan cheese producers, culinary masterclasses and dining in award-winning restaurants.
As our guests fell in love with the taste of Scotland, they asked us to show them the rest of it.
And so, whilst staying true to our early philosophy of creating exceptional, attention to detail, authentic, memorable tours, we expanded. Today we offer a more complete Scotland with our expertise spanning every corner of Scottish culture, landscape and history. Every castle, every coast, every must-see place, every off-the-beaten track gem. Put simply, your every wish is our command!
Born and raised in North-East Scotland, Brenda’s career has always been focused on people. After studying Hospitality in college, she worked in 5-Star hotels and first class restaurants at home and abroad. Within Gleneagles in Scotland, the Marriott Hotel on the Gold Coast in Australia and the Michelin starred River Café in London the demands of delivering the highest of standards of service were honed until they became second nature.
She has over 18 years experience in teaching Hospitality, Wine and Gastronomy related subjects and as a Chef Lecturer in further and higher education. Her last post before returning briefly during the ‘Covid Years’ to teach Travel & Tourism subjects, was as Head of Food Studies at The City of Glasgow College, Scotland’s largest college.
She left the college and began Tasting Scotland Luxury Tours in 2012 (the seeds of which were planted in 2005 whilst on a walking food tour in Manhattan, New York). Beginning as a Food & Whisky Tour Company, she was honored to be Scotland’s World Food Travel Association Ambassador for many years. In 2019 Tasting Scotland expanded into offering the full Scotland experience combining visits to castles, etc, etc into the itineraries.
Working with like-minded professionals to deliver exceptional tours across the length and breadth of Scotland is one of her greatest joys and she’s delighted to now be able to offer the full-service experience with accommodation and other booking partners also in place, should you wish.
