Enjoy a Scotland tour curated for multi-generation families. We understand that traveling with family means balancing different paces.
This tour ensures that while the kids are feeding reindeer or looking for “Nessie” on Loch Ness, the grandparents can enjoy the rich history and world-class scenery in total comfort. From the cinematic thrill of the “Hogwarts Express” to historic castle visits this itinerary offers a seamless blend of iconic places and outdoor experiences in nature. And the parents can simply relax knowing everyone is happy!
Your first stop today is the majestic Stirling Castle, where history comes alive through the fascinating stories of the royals who once called this home. The stunning views to the William Wallace Monument continue through the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. A stop in the highland village of Callander and the chance to feed the highland cows (we’ll supply the carrots!) ends with a spectacular journey through the haunting beauty of Glencoe. Visit the eco-friendly visitor centre or enjoy a hike before arriving in Fort William.
Overnight: Fort William
Embark on a nostalgic journey aboard the Jacobite Steam Train, complete with vintage carriages. This world-famous “Harry Potter” Hogwarts Express route departing from Fort William features the breathtaking Glenfinnan Viaduct and offers stunning highland scenery towards Mallaig. There’s time to explore and get lunch in this coastal town before the return trip. Loved by rail enthusiasts, Harry Potter fans or those who love a train trip back in time.
Overnight: Fort William
Enjoy the view to Ben Nevis before journeying through ‘The Great Glen’. On reaching the charming village of Fort Augustus learn about the engineering brilliance of the Caledonian Canal; a 60-mile route connecting the west coast to the North Sea. You may see a sailboat navigating some of routes’ 29 locks here. Next up its Loch Ness, a visit to the ancient ruins (but no less majestic) Urquhart Castle and a boat cruise to uncover the legend of ‘Nessie’. Arrive in the capital of the Highlands your home for tonight.
Overnight: Inverness.
Breathe in the crisp mountain air during a Cairngorm Reindeer Hill Hike. This unique experience allows you to get up close with Britain’s only free-ranging reindeer herd in their natural tundra habitat. It’s an invigorating, educational trek that provides stunning views of the national park and a rare and memorable connection with local wildlife.
